Whitby 55


The Whitby 55 is a 55.0ft staysail ketch designed by Ted Brewer and built in fiberglass by Whitby Boat Works Ltd. (CAN) since 1982.

The Whitby 55 is a moderate weight sailboat which is slightly under powered. It is not stiff and has an excellent righting capability if capsized. It is best suited as a heavy bluewater cruising boat. The fuel capacity is excellent. There is an excellent water supply range.
