The Islander 55 is a 54.67ft masthead sloop designed by Bruce King and built in fiberglass by Islander / Tradewind Yachts since 1968.
The Islander 55 is a heavy sailboat which is a reasonably good performer. It is not stiff and has an excellent righting capability if capsized. It is best suited as a heavy bluewater cruising boat.
